Environmental Risk Management

High on our list of priorities is the sustainability of our environment. When performing an environmental site assessment, our number one goal is to first evaluate any potential risks, then effectively and efficiently produce a plan to safely remediate and/or control the situation at hand.

Chastain-Skillman’s Environmental Risk Department boasts a professional staff that has conducted hundreds of site assessments and hydrogeologic studies in association with the following:

  • Chemical and fuel storage spill sites
  • Hazardous waste generation sites
  • Agricultural operations
  • Phosphate-mined lands
  • Municipal landfills
  • Water supply
  • Effluent disposal facilities

This work has involved soil borings, monitor well construction, soil and groundwater sampling, aquifer testing, field analyses, soil gas mapping, contaminant transport modeling, and risk and exposure analysis. Our geologists and environmental scientists have also developed of health and safety protocols and environmental quality assurance programs.

Our environmental risk professionals routinely provide the following services:

  • Brownfield Assessments
  • Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
  • Site (Contamination) Assessments
  • Remedial Actions involving both soil and groundwater contamination.

CS is particularly proud of our ability to handle complex and difficult ESA activities involving multiple issues related to regulatory compliance, site (contamination) assessment and remediation, and risk management alternatives.
