• Prepare site visit reports, record contractor’s activities, field decisions, and changed conditions
  • Review applications for payment
  • Prepare field directives
  • Responsible for preparing construction reports, field verification and documentation of compliance with construction plans and specifications
  • Assist field personnel interpreting contract drawings, specifications and plans for construction
  • Check materials for conformance with contract requirements before installation
  • Point out potential problems to the project engineer, and keep engineer and supervisor informed of progress of project
  • Mentor and train other technicians


  • Minimum high school diploma with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Hands-on management experience including:
    • Utility works
    • Water/wastewater plants
    • Pump stations
    • Pipelines
    • Lift stations
    • Earthwork
    • Mass concrete
  • CTQP Asphalt Paving Level I & II
  • CTQP Earthwork Level I & II
  • Advanced MOT
  • Must be familiar with FDOT Standard & Specifications
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, FDOT Site Manager, LIMS, CPPR
  • Affective Oral and Written Communication skills
  • Ability to speak conversational Spanish not required, but desirable
