Chastain-Skillman was honored to be part of the PK Avenue Ribbon Cutting in Auburndale, Florida on Monday, August 13th.  The Ribbon Cutting celebrated the recent redevelopment of PK Avenue, which transformed the western gateway to Downtown Auburndale.

Chastain-Skillman provided planning, survey, design and permitting services for this project.  Our civil engineers used a complete street concept to reduce the four lane roadway to two lanes and utilized a series of Low Impact Development techniques, including a system of bio-retention swales, on-street pervious paver parking with subsurface storage, and a one-acre retention pond.

The design improvements resolved former flooding issues, improved the water quality in Lake Lena, reduced traffic speeds, enhanced pedestrian safety and beautified the area, increasing property values.
