The NWRUSA Master Plan Update identified water system improvements to meet peak flows and fire flow requirements in portions of the system.
This phase of the project consisted of approximately 28,500 feet of 4-inch through 16-inch water mains. The water main improvements were installed in existing neighborhood areas which had crowded rights-of-way with existing utilities currently servicing the areas. In several locations, due to crowded conditions and lack of right-of-way, the new water mains were accomplished with directional bores to avoid conflicts with existing utilities and roadway drainage systems.
Chastain-Skillman (CS) provided surveying, subsurface utility engineering (SUE) locates, geotechnical investigation and engineering, design, permitting, bid phase and construction phase services for the Project. Permits were obtained from the Polk County Health Department and Polk County Roads and Drainage. CS identified easement requirements for the project and flagged proposed easements in support of easement acquisition. Construction began in August 2013 and was completed in April 2015.
