The Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) WaterMatters blog highlighted one of Chastain-Skillman’s recent projects – Pilaklakaha (PK) Avenue in Auburndale.

Chastain-Skillman worked with the City of Auburndale on the ambitious redevelopment of PK Avenue (a 3,300 LF roadway) using a complete street concept to improve aesthetics, vehicle and pedestrian safety, flood protection, roadway durability, and quality of stormwater discharge. Because of substantial improvements to regional water quality, CS was able to help the City obtain $1.3 million in co-operative funding from SWFWMD for the project.

The CS Project Team included: S&ME (Landscape Architectural Design Services), CivilSurv (Traffic Signals and Street Lighting), Madrid Engineering Group (Geotechnical Engineering), and George F. Young, Inc. (Subsurface Utility Engineering). Chastain-Skillman (CS) provided watershed planning, conceptual design, feasibility analysis, and co-operative funding support for the PK Avenue Project.
