At Chastain-Skillman, we recruit top talent. Our team is currently seeking a Water/Wastewater Senior Project Manager with a passion for hands-on learning to join our team in either our Lakeland or Orlando office.

The qualified individual will be an experienced engineer who completes the full scope of work from planning and design through construction.  The Senior Project Manager will lead and manage a water/wastewater design project team and a group of projects/clients for water/wastewater projects. Project market sectors will primarily include municipal utility infrastructure including pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities. In addition to being a Senior Project Manager, the candidate shall manage the local operations of the department with duties such as timesheet approvals, mentoring staff, and attendance at managerial meetings.

  • Responsible for the procurement of new clients/projects
  • Client maintenance
  • Projects are typically larger and more complex and can often include multiple disciplines
  • Participate in marketing meetings as appropriate for the area of expertise
  • Mentoring individuals on his/her team
  • Oversees proposal preparation, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and receivables of client’s payments
  • Delivers quality projects on time and under budget
  • QA/QC of projects


  • 8 to 10+ years of experience
  • Exhibits proficiency in the following areas:
    • Team building and leadership skills
    • Technical knowledge of projects and contracts.
    • Ability to effectively plan project schedules and budgets.
    • Organizational skills
    • Entrepreneurial and business development skills
  • Knowledge of applicable design, or modeling software (AutoCAD, Microsoft, or related software packages)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Be responsible for generating net revenue at a minimum of $1.0M annually
  • Effectively foster client relationships
  • Effectively delegate assignments to his/her team
  • Maintain a level of technical expertise within his/her field
  • Contract negotiation
  • Consensus-building
