Chastain-Skillman (CS) was honored to support the Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE) as it broke ground on January 15th, 2020 for its “Project SkyLab” facility expansion at the Sun ‘n Fun Expo, located at the Lakeland Linder International Airport.

The new space is designed to support its current educational programs while additionally providing space for exhibits, functions and immersive laboratory learning experiences. Key elements of the cutting-edge project also include:

  • 8,000 square feet of new convertible educational/event/exhibit space with the ability to transform from one large space into separate laboratory classrooms or exhibit space via movable partition walls
  • A new lobby/entrance for the museum which may double as a pre-function event space or house additional artifacts
  • A new state-of-the-art simulator training lab, holographic theatre/planetarium, and aerospace resource center
  • A new ACE corporate headquarters and educator planning space

CS teaming with The Lunz Group on this project. CS is providing civil engineering design, permitting and construction services.
