Chastain-Skillman (CS) provided surveying, civil engineering, environmental assessment, construction management, and construction observation services for the City of Auburndale for the construction of four additional collegiate baseball fields and associated parking and concession. Prior to development of the 35+/-acre parcel, CS performed a Phase I Environmental Assessment review and report on the project site. In addition, CS also conducted endangered species surveys which included sand skink permitting with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services and Gopher Tortoise burrow surveys, permitting, and relocation services. A topographic survey of the entire parcel of land was performed by CSโ€™s crew.

The project included four collegiate baseball fields, parking areas, concession facilities, and stormwater management facilities. Utilities design included the extension of potable water mains with provisions for fire protection, a gravity sanitary sewer system, re-use water main relocation and extensions, underground electrical supply and distribution lines, and fiber optic communication facilities. Bid period services included the preparation of an opinion of probable cost of construction, preparation of the project manual/specifications, bid documents preparation with final construction documents, and bidding services. Construction period services included onsite reviews, processing of contractor pay request, submittals review, bi-weekly construction meetings, preparation of project record/close-out documents, etc.
