The Circle Bar B Preserve site is located on the northwestern shores of Lake Hancock. Located in the center of a triangle consisting of the cities of Bartow, Lakeland and Winter Haven, the 4,553-acre water body is the largest lake in the headwaters of the Peace River. It was purchased for preservation by Polk County. As the County’s Engineering Consultant, CSI provided surveying, structural design and environmental permitting services for this project. The design included a 90-foot long boardwalk over the edge of Lake Hancock, leading to a 20 x 20-foot covered viewing platform. This environmental preserve showcases diverse native habitats, unique and rare wildlife and plants, numerous wetlands, and lake’s shoreline. CSI also assisted with the bidding and construction observation services for the project.
