Noise Evaluation

Chastain-Skillman, Inc. (CSI) has conducted numerous community and workplace noise evaluations for a major U.S. retailer.  The purpose of these evaluations was to assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating noise concerns.  Some of the facilities included in these evaluations are: the Lakeland Print Shop, Distribution Facilities in FL – GA, Manufacturing Warehouses, Retail Store Locations throughout FL, GA & SC, Maintenance & Garages, Day Care Facilities and Food Processing & Storage Facilities.Additionally, CSI has conducted over 100 other noise evaluations and mitigation related projects at other client retail shopping centers and tenant spaces across the Southeast United States.

Community and workplace noise evaluations can be delicate assignments, requiring capabilities in customer relations as well as health and safety assessments.  In addition to dealing with objective scientific data, the health professionals involved in these evaluations must be sensitive to the perceived risks and concerns of those affected.  In most cases both issues must be addressed to properly identify and resolve the root cause of the problem.

A variety of investigative methods and analytical technologies were employed by CSI during the evaluations of a variety of facilities that included: general office spaces, industrial facilities, retail commercial centers and warehouse areas.  These included background/historical data collection, facility walk-through evaluations, instrumentation/data collection, noise source/pathway determinations, nuisance issues, and employee health surveys.

As the client directs, verbal and written reports are prepared and presented to management and legal counsel.  In addition, CSI has provided similar noise evaluation services to numerous City and County governments, School Boards, and private industry.
