Chastain-Skillman (CS) entered into an Agreement with the DeSoto County Board of County Commissioners in 2017 to provide Survey services, Underground Utility location, Geotechnical services, a Preliminary Engineering Report, Engineering Design, and Permitting services for design of CR-763. This roadway project is approximately 10 miles in length. This project is being funded through the FDOT Small Counties Opportunity Program (SCOP) and the Small County Roadway Assistance Program (SCRAP). The design will include milling and widening portions of the roadway and replacement of all cross-drains. The roadway will be resurfaced and the turning radius at CR-763 and CR-760A will be improved. The design is being reviewed and permitted through the FDOT District One office and the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). The design process includes 30%, 60%, 90% and 100% submittals for review and approval.
Survey and Preliminary Design for this project began in September of 2017. The 100% Preliminary Engineering Report has been submitted and the project is scheduled for completion of design on May 1, 2018. The project will be bid and let for construction later this year.
