Chastain-Skillman, Inc.’s (CSI) survey department was contracted to provide survey construction staking for the Science and Technology Building at Florida’s newest university, Florida Polytechnic. From initial placement of the first footers to the final ring-beam, CSI staff played an instrumental role in the construction activities for this intricate building design. CSI field crews were on site at all times of the day for all major concrete pours to verify accuracies from possible shifts in the structure. With over ten thousand survey points, the coordination between the client, field crew and office was critical and seamless. Direct data transfer to the project site allowed for coordination and staking of critical working points to eliminate construction delays and down time.
