In 2016, Chastain-Skillman (CS) met with the Polk County Natural Resources Division to discuss the development of plans and permitting for a 3,500-square foot pavilion at the County’s Loyce Harpe Park. The pavilion would be a re-use of architectural plans that the County has used at other parks.
The work of CS involved surveying the site, developing a site plan by placing the building foot print on the site with adjacent walks and parking and permitting the site through the County and Southwest Florida Water Management District. Additionally, CS was responsible for the design of an 80-ft. long pedestrian bridge spanning a large drainage ditch and connecting to an existing playground.
Construction on the project began in June of 2016 and was completed in February 2017.
